ABSTRACT
This paper examined the concept of entrepreneurship education, objectives of entrepreneurship
education, which include functional Education, reduce the high rate of poverty, and create
employment opportunities, and reduction in rural and urban migration. The paper also outlined
the causes of unemployment, such as frictional unemployment, seasonal unemployment, and
cyclical unemployment. It further discusses the role of entrepreneurship education towards
unemployment in Nigeria, which includes increasing the earning capacity of its recipient,
stimulating productivity, creating employment opportunities, and reducing the dropout rate. Some
of the factors that hinder the effective implementation of entrepreneurship education in Nigeria
were also outlined: underfunding, lack of training facilities, lack of trained teachers and effective
curriculum.
