Evaluating language, students can be a daunting task for language teachers. However, by becoming familiar with some assessment approaches, language teacher can be better positioned to manage and evaluate their studentÍs progress. Therefore, this paper highlighted the concepts of Evaluation, criteria for evaluation in language class, the roles,types, and functions of Evaluation according to different views and their importance.Finally, the paper also will be concluded as well as recommended.
