This paper titled the role of Zakat Foundation in the poverty reduction in Sokoto state is an attempt to explain the endeavors of the state government towards poverty reduction through the Zakat Foundation established to enhance economic sustainability and empowerment in the state. The paper contained a rudimentary introduction of the concept in the Glorious Qur’an and the prophetic traditions where as some few points shall be discussed VIZ ,The establishment of the foundation and its development in Sokoto state. ,The importance of the foundation and its role towards poverty reduction. ,Summary and conclusion ,Suggestions and recommendations
