ABSTRACT
This study examines the various factors responsible for migration and social implications of the movement and the immigrant lifestyle. The paperrecommends measures such as reducing disparities between rural and urban areas, provision of adequate facilities and services. Others include enhancing income-earning opportunities and a balanced development strategy. Besides, the government should play an active role in adopting and implementing a comprehensive urban policy which would accommodate the existing urban population.
