Languages are not just abstract structured systems, they are as well used in thought and communication and it is the task of psycholinguistics (psychology of language ) to discover how knowledge of language is represented in the mind /br ain of a fluent speaker and a learner of second language . It is in the light of the above assertion that this paper intends to discuss language acquisition, language learning and the teaching of second language as they relate to psycholinguistics.
